Keeping Up With Canadian Immigration
While we are a very busy Immigration Law Practice and Employment Agency. We believe it is very important to keep up to date with Canadian Law, Policies, and Procedures.
There are two major changes in Canadian Immigration Law that will be very important for most of our clients to know, and they are:
1. Changes to the age of a dependent child will increase to under 22 years old as soon as October 2017. This is great news for many families who have been waiting for nearly two years for this important change in the family reunification category.
2. Canadian Citizenship Act has changed to enable permanent residents to apply for citizenship after they have lived in Canada three years out of four years - the calculation begins after a person/s has become a landed immigrant. However, credits will be given for the time that a person has lived in Canada under a temporary status.
